Orenda- A Rhetorical Tribute to the Titans 2023

The fourth edition of Orenda- A Rhetorical Tribute to the Titans, the annual inter school declamation competition was organised by the English Department of Delhi Public School, Indore on 28th October 2023. Around 15 leading schools of the state participated in the competition. The judges for the competition were Dr Swati Jain, a renowned educationist and Ms Shubha Swami, an eminent linguist and counsellor.

The programme commenced with the lighting of the lamp followed by the formal welcome of the judges. Thereafter the students of the host school presented a heart rending musical performance, based on the theme of peace and harmony, which vibrated the strings of everyone’s heart. During the competition, the participants exhibited their oratory skills by declaiming the speeches of famous personalities with full zeal and fervour.

The judges in their speech, appreciated the performance of all the participants and gave them the tips to improve their oratary skills.The winners for the competition were as follows:

Best Speaker – G D Goenka Public School
1st Runner Up – National Public School
2nd Runner Up – The Emerald Heights International School

The winners were awarded with trophies and certificates for their commendable performance. All the participants were motivated by giving them participation certificates. The cheerful presence of Dr Dharam Verma, the Officiating Principal and Director School Academic Development along with the other members of the school management added enthusiasm to the event.

Orenda- A Rhetorical Tribute to the Titans 2022

The soundest argument will produce no more conviction in an empty head than the most superficial declamation; as a feather and a guinea fall with equal velocity in a vacuum.

Orenda, A Rhetorical Tribute to Titans was hosted by Delhi Public School, Indore on 29th October 2022. 17 schools participated enthusiastically in the third edition of this competition. The young orators, packed with a lot of oomph, were all set to take the cream home.

The judges for the competition were Ms Sunanda Yadav, Principal, Shri Ayyappa Public School and an eminent language trainer, Ms Prithi Rajaram Iyer. The dignitaries included the Vice Principal Ms Jyothi Nambiar along with the Headmistresses Ms Madhavi Bhale and Ms Urmi Banerjee.

The Best Speaker award was given to Ms Gaurangi Mehta representing Queens’ College for the most impressive delivery. The position of First Runner-up and Second Runner-up were received by Master Himanshu Singh of Delhi Public School, Rau and Ms Pakhi Gupta of Delhi Public School, Kolar Road Bhopal respectively.

The competition concluded with Ms Divyanshi Arora, Student Editor proposing the vote of thanks.
